Privacy notice

Last updated: 22 October 2026

The short version: this website doesn't use cookies, analytics or tracking. If you contact us, we use your details only to reply and, if you go ahead, to do the work. We never sell your data.

Who we are

This website is run by Charlie Bolger, trading as CLB Web Design, based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. As a sole trader, Charlie is the "data controller" for any personal information you send through this site, which means we're responsible for looking after it under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

You can contact us about privacy at [email protected].

Cookies and tracking

This site does not set any cookies, and it doesn't use analytics, advertising or social media trackers. It doesn't load fonts, images or scripts from other companies either. That's why there's no cookie banner. The only time your browser talks to another company is when you send the contact form, which goes straight to our form provider, Formspree (see below).

What information we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us, when you use the contact form or email or phone us:

Like almost every website, the company that hosts this site (Cloudflare) may automatically record basic technical information (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested) in server logs, to keep the site secure and working.

Why we use it, and the legal basis

We won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing without asking first.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your information. We only share it with services we use to run the business, who handle it on our behalf:

Formspree and Cloudflare are based in the USA, so your information may be transferred to and stored outside the UK. Where that happens, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

If you get in touch but don't go ahead, we'll delete your enquiry within 12 months. If you become a client, we keep project and invoice records for as long as needed for tax purposes (usually six years after the end of the tax year they relate to).

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

Just email us and we'll respond within one month. There's no charge.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use personal information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
